Coming Over the Next Few Weeks

Introducing Influence Studio

Ninth-grade students will begin Influence Studio, the creative-media strand of Freshman Seminar. Students will explore their interests, develop a personal or project identity, understand audiences, plan content, and build a portfolio that shows their growth.

Freshman Seminar helps students understand how to succeed, who they are becoming, and where they may go. Influence Studio gives them a place to turn that growing knowledge into purposeful work through writing, photography, video, audio, design, storytelling, and responsible social media practice.

Students will learn how to shape an idea for a real audience, make thoughtful privacy choices, create with a plan, receive feedback, revise their work, and explain the decisions behind what they create. Planned Content Days will also give students opportunities to work in a professional content studio with guidance from experienced creators and marketing professionals.

Student Choice and Privacy

Public posting is optional. Students may create for a public, protected, or classroom-only audience, and they will receive the same academic credit regardless of the audience they choose. Follower counts, likes, views, and viral reach are not measures of success in this course.
